Building stronger communities doesn't just happen. It requires the efforts of many - each bringing their own unique talents, insights, strengths, abilities and willingness to make a difference. Developing the next generation workforce is critical for businesses in our region to continue to grow and improve the local economy.
The Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program is designed to give high school juniors and seniors a jump start on learning how to become successful entrepreneurs and small-business owners. The partnership between the Wadena-Deer Creek, Staples-Motley and Pillager School Districts provides local students the opportunity to connect with area business leaders.
The program objectives are:
- To prepare students as future business owners who are responsible, enterprising individuals who contribute to economic development and sustainable communities.
- Immerse the students in real-life learning experiences with the opportunity to take risks, manage the results and learn from outcomes.
- Create a link to Common Core, national and entrepreneurship education standards, and provide high school credits.
